This
ministry is dedicated to serving parishioners who are in
"sorrow, need or sickness" or those who are homebound or
would just like a friendly visit. Volunteers are guided by our
priest and feel that giving of ourselves and of our time costs
little and so enriches each of us.
An
important part of this ministry is delivering tapes of Parish
services to shut-ins. Please call the Parish office if you or
someone that you know would enjoy receiving these tapes. We also
have tape players available, if needed.
Some
members of the Lay Visitation Ministry Committee have been licensed
and trained as Lay Eucharistic Ministers. They take communion to our
shut-ins. The reserve Sacrament has been consecrated during a
service at Christ Church and becomes an extension of our worship for
people who can't get to church.
There
is a tremendous need for this ministry in our Parish right now. If
you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Parish Office
at
(804) 725-2175 or via email here. There
is some training involved.
