The contemporary issues sunday school class begins with a formal topic but inevitably is guided by the participants into deeper levels of discussion into the meaning and relevance of Christ's teachings in today's world. The impact of new ideas and other religious beliefs on modern Christian thought are also discussed.

We meet at 9:00 AM on every Sunday morning at the Kingston Parish House on Main Street in the Mathews Village (class is not held during the Summer months). Everyone is invited to attend. Come join the fun!

**  Join us for a SUMMER GUIDED SPIRITUAL RETREAT!  **

Need some quiet time? Ready for the kids to be back in school? Are you doing more than ever yet you have almost no time to just be you?

The Adult Contemporary Sunday School Class at Kingston Parish will conduct a summer weekend guided spiritual retreat August 12th thru 14th, 2005, at Richmond Hill, a non-denominational retreat center on the site of the former Monte Maria Monastery overlooking downtown Richmond, Virginia. All are invited to participate.

This is a 48-hour retreat during which we will work on types of prayer, have lots of time for seeking God, for silence, and for conversation about God. Our guide will be the Reverend Ben Campbell, an Episcopal priest and the Pastoral Director of Richmond Hill. Participants are free to participate as much or as little as desired in guided activities. The retreat begins at Richmond Hill at 4 PM on Friday, August 12th and ends at 4 PM on Sunday, August 14th, 2005. Sleeping accommodations and food are provided. The cost is $45 per night ($90 total) for room and board for each participant. There is also an additional group fee for the Rev. Campbell's leadership services, which will be split equally among the participants, so the more that attend, the smaller the cost for everyone!

This retreat is open to all adults. You need not be a member or attendee of Kingston Parish to participate. We need to get a good head count ASAP of the number of participants so that reservations at Richmond Hill can be made. If you are interested, please call Sylvia Shinault at (804) 725-7669 and immediately send your check for $90 to Kingston Parish and mark it for the "Summer Spiritual Retreat" so that we can reserve your spot. Space is limited so call today!
